Dispatcher Time Zone
Overview
An option is added, which allows the Dispatcher to select different time zone than the one set by default. Until now different Job times were always based on the time zone chosen by default.
The option can be turned on from Company / My Company / Display panel and it is called “Allow Custom User Time Zone for Job & Ticket Times”.
Note
The default time zone can be seen/set from Company/My Company/Company Information/Time zone field.
Key Benefits
The Dispatcher can create jobs in different time zones, without the need to change the default time.
Less chance for mistakes and wrong Job times.
Specifics
When the user turns on the option, a new button is displayed in the upper right corner of the application.
The user can click on it and change the time zone.
There are four shortcut keys that can be used, which ease the search for the right time zone. When the user type one of them the drop-down list will update automatically.
The keys are based on the four time zones in USA with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii, which are also available to select, but they do not have specific keys assigned.
Click on the button and type one of these four keys.
P - Pacific Time (PDT)
M - Mountain Time (MDT)
C - Central Time (CDT)
E - East Time (EDT)

When the time zone is changed all the jobs are updated with the new time zone set by the Dispatcher.
The Dispatcher can add a new job with a different Time Zone than the one selected from the drop-down list.
Example:
The Dispatcher has set MDT for the time zone.
Let’s create a job with 10:00 On Job Time and 13:00 Leave time Central Time (CDT).
When the Job is saved the times (On Job Time, Leave Time, etc.) are automatically updated to the time zone selected by the Dispatcher - Mountain Time (MDT).
The difference between CDT to MDT is 1 hour
...
Reports, SMSs, Timeline View, Summary View and every other functionality, which has time fields will use the one selected by the Dispatcher, not the one set by default.
